克罗地亚和德国的关系
Croatia–Germany relations (Croatian: Hrvatsko-njemački odnosi) are foreign relations between Croatia and Germany. The countries established diplomatic relations on 15 January 1992. Croatia has an embassy in Berlin and five consulates general in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart. Germany has an embassy in Zagreb and an honorary consulate in Split.
As of 2011[update], there were 360-400,000 people of Croatian origin resident in Germany. According to the 2011 Croatian census there is 2,902 Germans in Croatia. First Croat elected to Bundestag is Josip Juratović (SPD) (2004-present).
Croats and other South Slavic peoples have been greatly influenced by German language and culture for centuries. Modern relations between the two countries date back to World War II, when Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy created a puppet state called the Independent State of Croatia (NDH). Germany supported NDH's persecution and murders of non-Croat peoples (Jews, Serbs, and Roma). During the Cold War, socialist Yugoslavia, of which Croatia was a member republic, enjoyed good relations with both West and East Germany. Hundreds of thousands of Croatian people migrated to West Germany as Gastarbeiter, and German tourists began visiting Croatia's Adriatic coast in large numbers.
Germany has to date had close co-operations with Croatia. When Croatia declared independence on 25 June 1991, many German politicians and other leaders declared support, with then German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher being one of the strongest advocates of international recognition of the newly independent Croatia. --维基百科
